The Ministry of Mining of Chile and the Canadian Petroleum Institute invite you to attend a Roadshow presentation to be delivered by senior representatives of the Ministry of Mining, including Her Excellency Karen Poniachik, Minister of Mining.
The Roadshow presentation will take place on Thursday, July 19 from 8a.m. to 12p.m., at
the Delta Bow Valley hotel with continental breakfast included. The presentation will be followed by one-on-one meetings, with seriously interested companies, on the afternoon of Thursday, July 19, and all day Friday, July 20. The Ministry of Mining has recently launched a tender for the licensing of ten exploration blocks in the Magallanes Basin in the south of the country, close to Punta Arenas. Of these ten blocks, six are onshore (two in continental Chile and four on the Island of Tierra del Fuego in Patagonia); three are offshore (in the Strait of Magallanes); and one is located in both continental Chile and in the Strait of Magallanes.
Seven of the blocks will be awarded to private companies, local or international, with proven experience and financial capability; and three will be awarded to private companies interested in forming a joint-venture with the national oil company, Empresa Nacional de Petróleo (ENAP).
