The Breakfast of the Americas is one of the CCA's signature biannual events. Coinciding with the Global Petroleum Show (GPS) that took place in Calgary from June 9-12, 2008, we welcomed business and governmental delegates visiting from Latin America and the Caribbean to join Alberta based companies to participate in this unique networking opportunity.

Amongst the key markets represented at this event were Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela.

The keynote speaker for the Breakfast of the Americas was Dwain Lingenfelter, Vice President of Government Relations at Nexen Inc. His presentation focused on varying models of energy resource ownership that exist worldwide, with a particular focus on the Americas, and the opportunities and challenges that exist for National Oil Companies and Independent Oil Companies under these various ownership regimes.
