Ambassador of Canada to the Republic of Chile
Ambassador Fuller took up her duties as Ambassador to the Republic of Chile in September of 2012. She joined the Canadian Foreign Service in 1989 and has been posted as Ambassador to Uruguay (2004-2007), First Secretary in Mexico (1995-1997) and Second Secretary in Guatemala (1991-1993).
In Ottawa, she has specialized in economic and trade policy, serving as Chief Economist of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (2007-2010) and Director of the Softwood Lumber Division (2003-2004). Earlier assignments included divisions responsible for trade remedies and for international economic relations. From 2000 to 2003 she was seconded to the Privy Council Office, where she worked in the secretariat for the cabinet committee on economic and regional development policy. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador to Chile, she was the Director General for Planning and Reporting at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics and Political Studies from Queen’s University, and a Master of Science with distinction from the London School of Economics. Prior to joining the foreign service, she worked at the Bank of Canada.
